Each fall Monarchs migrate to a warm region to spend the winter. It so happens that some
migrating females stop to lay eggs in my backyard! The vigil begins as a frost will kill the
milkweed plants and the caterpillars. I check the daily weather report. If a freeze appears
imminent the caterpillars are gathered up and brought into the warm house. Over the years
